Holidays

The holidays are the threads that tie together the fabric of Jewish life. And at Woodlands, it should come as no surprise that we approach holiday celebrations with the same patchwork of tradition and innovation that characterizes everything else we do. It is, after all, the "Woodlands Way." From High Holy Days under the tent (and our creative teen services) to rapid-fire Shavuot learning (and an ice cream feast), from our famous Pesakh brunch (that has more than just matzo brei) to rollicking Purim spiels, Hanukkah concerts, Simkhat Torah Torah readings (with the Woodlands Simkhat Torah band), and the Sukkot Barbecue, holidays at Woodlands are never rote.

This year the Jewish Life Committee is launching an ongoing study of holiday celebrations at Woodlands, talking about what we do and why we do it, looking to improve what's already working so well. Drop in at a Jewish Life Committee meeting to discuss and plan.

In this section, you can find not only information about the holidays but also schedule details, blessings, commentary, and more.
